Nature Trip

I recently went to Cebu with Fuse partners Jen and Homer for the 19th Phil. Advertising Congress.
It was actually during and after this trip that got me starting this Blog Trip. Somehow it made me want to share with everyone and allow them to experience part of our vacation.
Bohol was actually a last-minute thing we didn't really plan with AdCon early on. Since we were gonna go to Cebu for the AdCon, Homer brought up the idea and next thing we know we ended up with a 10-day business/vacation trip out of Manila. Truly worth it!
Riding the OceanJet from Cebu to Tagbilaran, Bohol was surprisingly comfortable. It was just like riding a plane, far from what I expected.. something more like the ferry ride to Boracay from Kalibo, Aklan. With plane-like seats, cool A/C and a movie to watch, it was the best ferry ride for me yet. Obviously, I've never been on a cruise yet. :)
First stop was Bohol Beach Club in Panglao island where we spent the rest of our 1st day relaxing with a massage by the beach, taking a dip in the salt water, and drinking at the bar with some foreigners and their 'exotic' escorts. Haha! While Jen and I had our soothing Swedish-Shiatsu massage, Homer decided not to wait for us and went swimming at the beach. 5 minutes later, he came limping back to us in pain. Nakatapak daw sya ng sea urchin! Our masseuse directed him to the lobby to get ammonia, telling us about the part of the beach with lots of urchins intentionally untouched to preserve the 'snorkeling area'. Wow, thanks for telling us! Di pa naman too late noh? Hehe. Tsk tsk... oh well, that's what you get for not waiting for us, Urchin Boy Homer!
After our 3rd buffet meal at the beach club the next day, we checked out and headed off to the wonders of Bohol. First in our itinerary was Baclayon Church, the oldest church in the Philippines. Made of wood, it was built waaay back in 1596 by Jesuit priests Fr. de Torres and Fr. Santos.. making us proud again to be Atenistas. :D The Hanging Bridge came next which we crossed to go to the other side where we met Mr. Buko King, who can peel off coconuts useing his bare teeth! Check out our Buko King Video to see him in action! And see his pearly-whites, amazingly nice enough for Close-Up!
The dizzying, zigzag ride after this gave us glimpses to some of the Chocolate Hills. Up the several flights of stairs, we saw the truly breathtaking site living up to it being one of the Wonders of the World. Ganda talaga! The pictures don't speak enough of it really...
Up next we cruised down Loboc River.. again the pics won't speak well of the real experience. Another amazing gift of nature with the seemingly endless river sandwiched between the trees... the fresh air.. and the waterfalls at the end where we had a brief stopover for picture-taking, where a small accident happened ala-Titanic. I'll let Urchin Boy Homer, a.k.a. Blind Greek Poet in the world of blog, tell the story. Maybe he'll have it in his blogsite. :D
Btw, we were told Loboc River was where Cesar Montano's Panaghoy sa Suba was shot.
And oh, before the river we also checked out the smallest monkey in the world, the Phil. Tarsier. Too bad we're not allowed to touch them anymore, just take pics almost cheek-to-cheek. Hehe. Check out the pics in my Multiply PhotoBlog and you'll know what I mean. :) We also fed them with frozen crickets on sticks. So amusing they look like humans eagerly eating hotdogs! Watch our Tarsi Video!
We ended our day checking in at the Bohol Bee Farm where all we did was eat and sleep! What with a number of hammocks, the house overlooking the cliff and the calm, laid-back atmosphere...perfect for just relaxing and lazing around. The next day we woke up early before sunrise to go dolphin watching around the Papilakan(?) Island. The last in our itinerary, it was kinda disappointing coz it was more like dolphin chasing. We only saw their fins and 20-30% of their bodies as they "hopped" around. Yet, it was still a sight to behold seeing schools of dolphins playing and doing their "synchronized hops"... all 10-20 of them!
Back at the Bee Farm, we did more eating and sleeping to make the most of the last few hours of our relaxing nature trip.
