Monopoly in Design?

Adobe Completes Acquisition of Macromedia. Got this news flash from Berg. We first heard about this months ago. Looks like Adobe is doing a Microsoft for design applications. We're talking about Flash and Dreamweaver, practically the only applications used for web design and publishing in their respective categories, joining their Print medium counterparts Illustrator, InDesign and the versatile Photoshop... all industry standards, under one company. Plus Acrobat and the emerging PDF. Whew! Talk about capitalism. Here's the official Press Release at the Adobe Site.
Also check out the upcoming complete software bundles. No price yet. Sana naman mas mura na. But I doubt it. Oh well.. we'll see.
